SIBU: A lorry carrying electrical equipment caught fire on Lanang Bridge here, this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said 75 percent of the vehicle was damaged by the flames.
The operations centre added that firefighters from Sibu station were despatched to the scene after a distress call was received.
“The operations commander reported that the fire had destroyed the rear of the lorry, and had spread to the cabin.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire using two auxiliary ducts, including three foam barrels as well as water, with the help of a prime mover water tanker from the Sungai Merah fire station.”
Operations ended at 1.08pm.
