SARATOK: A gravel-laden lorry caught fire at the junction to Betong, causing traffic to slow down near here yesterday.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Betong fire station were deployed after receiving a distress call at 8.38am. 

However, by the time they arrived the fire was already at its peak. Initial investigations showed the fire had started at the rear tyre. The lorry was 70 percent destroyed but no injuries or casualties were involved.
