KUCHING: Entertainment is a crucial sector that contributes significantly to boosting the tourism industry by attracting more tourists and enhancing their overall experience.

Hence, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng urged the locals to support any local businesses and brands, including the K11 Karaoke, which is a homegrown entertainment brand.

He said there were many new businesses emerging post COVID-19 around the city, showing signs of a robust economic recovery in Sarawak.

“I could not recall how many (business outlets) openings I have been to since the post COVID-19. I believe this is a good sign.

“Apart from protecting and preserving the peace and harmony in Sarawak, I hope we all will support our local brands and businesses,” he said.

Wee, representing Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, was speaking at the opening of the first K11 Karaoke ‘Signature’ in Sarawak at La Promenade Mall near here today.

This ‘Signature’ outlet at Hock Seng Lee’s flagship 200-acre development project includes more rooms, premium equipment, and large and luxurious rooms, which can sit over 30 people comfortably.

Themed rooms for family fun include Anime Cat karaoke rooms, and cosy duet booths  offering a high-end entertainment experience for all.

In total, the new outlet has a whopping 35 rooms in Deluxe, VIP, Infinite, Silver, Gold, Platinum configurations, plus more.

This La Promenade outlet matches the brand’s higher standards at its new Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Pavilion Damansara outlets.

Meanwhile, Hock Seng Lee (HSL) executive director Tony Yu said the opening of K11 at La Promenade was a significant milestone.

“As a lease-only mall owner, HSL has always had the option to pick and choose the best tenants.

“K11 presented to us their Signature brand and we were quick to collaborate. It is a beautiful, family-friendly, safe, fun and exciting new entertainment venue for all of Kuching and Samarahan,” he added.

At the grand opening, K11 executive director Fam Wee Chiang shared that the outlet was almost a year in the making, and that it had all the latest bells and whistles.

“We have among the largest song selections in the region. We have the latest hits, and a new online feature, which customers must come to find out what it is,” Fam said.

“I’m also proud that whether you are in a group or alone, this K11 outlet has something for everyone. We have a wide food and drinks selection. We have made sure to price it all affordably.”

La Promenade K11 Karaoke Signature is open daily from 11 am to 2 am. Parking at the mall is free, including its basement car park.

Furthermore, Iced bar at La Promenade is offering all K11 customers 10 per cent discounts off cocktails, by just showing their K11 receipt.

The bar, which is popular for its local approach to classic cocktails, is open from 4 pm till midnight. It also has a wide selection of whiskies, including their well-received whiskey tasting ‘fights’, and exclusive wines not found on retail
