KUCHING: A man was killed when he was catapulted out of a car in a single-vehicle collision at the KM14, Jalan Kota Samarahan-Mambong, early yesterday morning.
Dylan Bryan Richard Rockie, 21, and a 22-year-old friend, were in a compact car heading towards Taman Stella, Mile 12th Kuching-Serian when the accident occurred at 3am.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said, as the car approached KM14, the victim’s car crashed and rolled over several times, throwing Dylan out the vehicle,” he said when contacted.
Alexson said the victim suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre.
Dylan succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the passenger from Taman Samarindah suffered injuries to his left hand.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.
