KUCHING: Police issued a total of 10 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places today.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said four of the compounds were issued in Kuching, two in Sarikei and one each in Miri, Padawan, Betong and Samarahan.
Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 99 verbal, written and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.
On the SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams inspected 1,357 premises throughout Sarawak over a 24-hour period today.
These comprised 303 restaurants, supermarkets (166), banks (122), places of worship (47), public markets (55), government offices (42), leisure places (41), hawker stalls (31), construction sites (23), factories (10), and others (517).
Under ‘Ops Benteng’, 1,066 vehicles were inspected through seven roadblocks in six districts — two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
