SIBU: A total of 10 members of the board of cooperatives and management of Sustainable Oil Palm Planters Cooperative Selangau Berhad participated in the ‘Strategic Plan Development’ workshop here.

Malaysian Cooperatives Institute (IKM) Sarawak Zone senior lecturer Mohamad Suandi Mortadza said the main purpose of the workshop, which was held from Tuesday until today (Dec 15-16), was to make preparation for long-term cooperative business strategic plans.

“At the same time, the workshop also helps cooperatives to deal with business situations during the recovery movement control order (RMCO) period,” he said.

He also said that the cooperative is one of those who are selected in the Miricle (Million Ringgit Coop League) programme, which is one of IKM’s initiatives in helping small and medium cluster cooperatives that have the potential to develop in a more organised manner.

In this programme, he said IKM Sarawak zone will also help the cooperatives involved to add value to their business activities.
