MIRI: Nearly 100 children from the Hamidah Yakub Welfare complex took part in the ‘World#Quran Hour’ held at Pustaka Miri auditorium this morning.
The activity began with the reading of several verses of the Quran for one hour.
Miri District Officer Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, who officiated at the event on behalf of Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus, read out her text of speech.
Rosey applauded the event, saying it helped children to become better Muslims.
Rosey also reminded Sarawakians to uphold unity and have a high level of tolerance for one another.
“When you have a high level of tolerance, you can withstand any provocation,” she said.
