KUCHING: A total of 100 food packs were given out to the poor, senior citizens, homeless, and disabled in the city here.

The representative of the Association for the Poor in the City of Kuching (SKUP), Kapitan Bernadette Geikie, said the food distribution was the result of donations from Singapore Chicken Rice (SCR) and a local business organisation.

“I am very grateful that there are still people who care about the needy such as the homeless, the poor, the disabled and the senior citizens.

“Every day, as many as 100 to 200 people will come here to receive breakfast and lunch.

“Today, we were able to witness this group receiving 100 SCR food packs in addition to the food packs we have prepared at the Charity Kitchen.

She said this when distributing the food packs to the needy at the Kuching Community

Social Support Centre Centre, Jalan Abell here yesterday (Dec1).

Commenting further, she added the food preparation and distribution had been undertaken by SKUP since the establishment of CSSC last January.
