MUKAH: Eighty students and 20 teachers from throughout the state will converge on Mukah for the environmental programme PALS (Kelab Pencinta Alam Sekitar) Club Conference 2018. It is jointly organised by Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) and Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) in collaboration with the State Education Department.
Member of Parliament for Mukah, Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib is expected to officiate at the closing ceremony of the four-day programme from 10 to 13 July. According to NREB Mukah Officer, Mohd Jefrin Azlan Abdullah, the conference is a platform for the PALS clubs to share and gain information on the environment.
“Participants of the conference would be able to share knowledge on the environment in an effort to improve awareness and responsibility towards preserving the environment. “During the conference the students are also urged to come up with a project or activity to share with other PALS clubs,” he said. It is also learnt that beside participants from schools from other divisions, the conference to be held at Kingwood Resorts Mukah would be mostly participated by schools from various districts in Mukah Division.
