KUCHING: The St. Theresa’s Parish Pastoral Council is expecting over 1,000 people at its fundraising dinner held at SJK Chung Hua, Serian on April 6.
The fundraiser, which is expected to start at 6.30 pm, aims to raise funds for St. Theresa’s pastoral centre building.
The organising committee has advised members attending the fundraising dinner to carpool with other members due to the insufficient parking area.
Among those expected to attend are guest of honour Catholic Archbishop of Kuching Fr Simon Poh, event spiritual advisor Rector Fr Lazarus Swinie, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus and project advisor Dennis Sung.
In a similar development, special functions committee chairman Dennis Erwin Manung said the programme for the night will include speeches, presentation of donations and dance and music performances.
“The committee invites generous well-wishers to contribute either by handing over their contributions to the Parish Office, at the Serian main church or by banking in to Hong Leong Bank, Serian (account: 0330001315) to the St. Theresa’s Pastoral Centre Fund,” Dennis said in a statement.
For the record, the building plan and relevant documents of the four-storey project has been submitted earlier to the relevant government departments for approval.
However, the project will only begin with the approval from the relevant authorities before calling for the tender.
