KUALA LUMPUR: Nearly 10,000 Sarawakians yesterday converged at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) here for the 13th edition of ‘Lan Berambeh Sarawak 2019’.
This year’s event featured 31 government agencies, nine government linked companies (GLCs) and 43 entrepreneurs from Sarawak.
Similar to previous series of ‘Lan Berambeh’, the programme was a platform that brought together Sarawakians from various backgrounds who were either studying or working in Malaya.
It was organised by Sarawak Volunteers and supported by the state government.
Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is chairman of this year’s ‘Lan Berambeh’.
The event kicked off at 8am yesterday with four dialogue sessions on issues such as education, housing affordability, youth unemployment and social issues.
In the evening, Head of State Tun Pehin Seri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib were among dignitaries at a dinner reception.
