KUCHING: 104 participants from Public Sector Services and Statutory Bodies of Sarawak State Government attended the Records and Archives Management Forum for the Sarawak State Government Departments and Agencies which was held recently at the Sarawak State Library, Galeri.
The forum that was held from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm aimed to explain and discuss on the management of records and archives in terms of direction, guidance and management aspects which must be followed by every civil servant.
The forum was conducted by Vincent Jinap (Head of Records Management of Sarawak State Library), Dayangku Horiah Awang Ghani (Head of Archives Management, Sarawak State Library) and invited speaker Mohd Shofian Jamain (Assistant Director of Malaysian Government Security Office in Sarawak)
The objectives of this forum were to create a systematic, efficient and effective records management in the government departments and agencies which also indirectly assist to identify and transfer valuable records and archives to the Sarawak State Library.
In addition, the participants of the forum had the opportunity to know the methods of the classified records management and to ensure that the procedures of records management are understood and followed.
