SIMUNJAN: A total of 105 early voters for the Batang Sadong parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15) cast their ballots at 8am today (Nov 15).
According to a news report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the early voters for the constituency were policemen and they cast their ballots at the Simunjan district police headquarters (IPD) Surau.
The voting centre will open from 8am to 2pm and has two voting channels.
The early voting process was also witnessed by the agents of the candidates.
After the l voting process is completed, the ballot papers will be kept in the police station lockup for safekeeping and will only be counted on Nov 19 at the EC-designated counting centre and witnessed by the agents of the respective candidates.
It’s a straight fight in Batang Sadong between Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) we face Rodiyah Sapiee, and Pakatan Harapan‘s (PH) Lahaji Lahiya.
The previous MP for Batang Sadong, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri from GPS, is now contesting in Santubong.
Batang Sadong has 32,640 registered voters.
