SARATOK: The Fire and Rescue Station here welcomed a visit from 108 children as part of an educational excursion from the Community Development Department (KEMAS) kindergartens.
The group comprised children from KEMAS kindergartens in Kampung Tanjung, Taman Seroja Indah A and B, and Rumah Panjang Nuing Batu 4 Sebatan.
Accompanying them were community educators, assistants, and, notably, their parents.
The warm reception was led by Saratok Fire and Rescue Chief PPGB Putra Ila and his team.
The visit, which began at 8 am, included a briefing on the duties of firefighting personnel and fire safety.
Following the briefing, the children toured the control room and observed an exhibition of firefighting equipment.
Their excitement grew as they were taken on a ride on the Scania Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and witnessed a fire extinguishing demonstration.
Before heading home, the children had the opportunity to play and enjoy a shower under the water cannon of the FRT.
Putra, delighted to host the young visitors, hoped that this experience would be cherished as a valuable memory.
He expressed the desire that such educational visits would impart knowledge about the duties performed by firefighting personnel.
“We also hope that this visit serves as a catalyst in sparking interest among children to consider firefighting professionalism as a career when they grow up,” he said.
KEMAS Saratok district officer Latif Amit was also present during the visit.
