LIMBANG: A total of 108 members of the Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in Limbang received an outright grant amounting to a total of RM324,000.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah urged the allocated fund to be utilised prudently to assist the common needs of the village residents.
“The village chiefs and community leaders (KMKK) should fulfil their responsibilities diligently and transparently.
“This includes assisting the state government in disseminating implemented government policies and preserving and strengthening harmony and unity within the community,” he added.
The Limbang MP said this in his speech at the grant presentation ceremony at Dewan Bunga Raya here on Wednesday (May 8).
Among the recipients were JKKK members from the Bisaya, Iban, Lun Bawang, Kelabit, Penan, and Chinese communities in the Limbang parliamentary constituency.
At the same event, a sum of RM165,000 OG was handed over to the JKKK and Limbang Community Development Department (KEMAS) welfare body for the implementation of upgrading projects for halls and roads.
Also present were Limbang District Officer Sulaiman Engal and local KMKK representatives.
