MUKAH: From March 1 to March 5 this year, a total of 1,096 new students from Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) have successfully registered to enter residential colleges for the December 2020 session.
It is understood that a total of 360 are new semester students while another 726 are senior students for Phase 1.
For Phase 2 students, they will register on May 17 to 18.
PMU director, Dullah Muluk said with the concept of drive-through registration, the student admission this time was in accordance with the entry procedure to Sarawak and standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
“Before registering, all students are required to fill in the Health Declaration Form online three days before the registration date.
“For students from Sarawak, they will undergo the process of segregation of students on campus for a period of 14 days after the registration date,” he told Suara Sarawak.
He added that the registered students are not allowed to leave the campus within 14 days once they have entered the campus area.
“For students coming from outside Sarawak, they are required to travel into Sarawak starting March 1.
“They will be quarantined according to the destination of the last flight arrival, to facilitate the travel arrangements of students from outside Sarawak.
“Students are also advised to take a flight to Bintulu before going to Mukah.
“Meanwhile, students from the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) areas are not allowed to come and register on campus,” he added.
He further said that for students undergoing 14-day quarantine period, they will only register at the campus after the quarantine period ends while the Minggu Inspirasi Siswa (MIS) orientation week will be done online.
The information on the MIS will be given to the students upon their registration at the campus.
