KUCHING: The 10th Mile Wet Market will undergo an upgrading project worth RM44,520 which commenced on Monday (May 17).
Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang said that the contract period of project is two months and is expected to be done by July 16.
He also said that the project will be undertaken by Syarikat Ferrari Industrial Equipments.
“The scope of the project is to replace the broken fans that have been there for ages as well as repairing the toilet facilities at the wet market,” he said during his visit to the market today.
He further mentioned that the project is an effort by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to improve the facilities of the market.
In line with this, Lo reminded the public to not hesitate to approach MPP if there is anything that needs the council’s attention.
“My door is always open if there is anything that they need us to know of.
“We would appreciate it if the people come to us directly and we will do everything that we can to get it done,” he said.
On another note, he also commented that a lot of businesses were affected due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
“With this, I would like to remind everyone to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) given as it will ensure everyone’s safety.
“I believe by doing so, we would be able to curb the spread of Covid-19 and eventually business owners are able to operate,” he said.
