BINTULU: An 11-year-old girl was found dead after falling into Sungai Plan in Kidurong this afternoon (Apr 23).
The victim, identified as Gwenna Dhollen Richard, was discovered and retrieved by rescuers around 4.10pm.
Paramedics confirmed that she had died at the scene.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the body was later handed over to the police to be taken to Bintulu Hospital for further action.
Earlier, the victim is said to have fallen into the river around 2.30pm.
Firefighters from Kidurong station were promptly deployed to the scene to commence rescue works after receiving an emergency call pertaining to the incident.
