KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud presented state awards and medals to 112 persons during an investiture ceremony at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri in Petra Jaya yesterday.
The recipients were led by Simunjan District Officer Abdul Khalid Manap who was awarded the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK). He was among five of the award recipients. The others were former police officer Supt (B) Han Hipeni, Ministry of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (Early Childhood Development Division) assistant secretary Matthew Chin Hiong Choi, Alexander Donald and Theresa Gelang Dinggin.
Eleven persons received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), 27 others received the
Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), 12 persons received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) and 32 received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS).
The civil service award, Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) was presented to 25 recipients.
Among those present at the ceremony were e Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Minister for Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom and Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
