KUCHING: Six hundred and forty vaccine recipients were inoculated at the Batu Kawa Health Clinic last Sunday (June 13).

Last Saturday (June 12), the clinic administered the Covid-19 vaccine to 500 people.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said that the vaccination process on Sunday went smoothly.

“This is possible because of the cooperation from the public; they did not arrive much earlier than their scheduled appointments given through the MySejahtera app,” he said in a Facebook post last Sunday (June 13).

Dr Sim, who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, commended the health clinic and volunteers for their great teamwork which ensured the smooth running of the vaccination process.

“Also, thanks to SDMC, Kuching Division Health Office (PKB), Batu Kawa Health Clinic together with Dr William Voon and those from Malaysia Medical Association (MMA) Sarawak for exploring the hybrid approach (that is jab first, followed by registration) in order to vaccinate more people,” he said.

Dr Sim also gave words of encouragement to medical professionals who were called upon to do extraordinary things for the people during the pandemic.

“The time to do extraordinary (in vaccinating more people), is now and for the next few weeks,” he said.

Besides that, he reminded the people not to forget to check the MySejahtera application for their vaccination appointments.
