KUCHING:  Some 430 dogs were vaccinated yesterday, the fourth day of the on-going Kuching District Anti Rabies Operation.

The operation, beginning from April 22 to May 3, is the third done covering the Samarahan and Kuching divisions.

Since the operation, 437 strays and three cats were culled.

The accumulated number of dogs vaccinated in the Kuching district (including from 2017) now stands at 11,569 from an estimated population of 50,000.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah, who is also chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, yesterday took time off to see for himself the free vaccination done at the basement of Green Height Mall.

He was joined there by the secretary of the Green Height/ Borneo Garden Neighbourhood Committee Andrew Tsen and his members.

Also present were Save Our Strays (SOS) group committee members and officers from the Department of Veterinary Services.

Uggah expressed his gratitude to the Green Height/Borneo Garden neighbourhood committee for their co-operation.
