KUCHING: A total of 11,659 vaccine injections have been given out as of March 4, said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
The committee in a statement today said the total number of vaccines as stated was given out since beginning of the immunisation programme on Feb 26.
On March 3, the second shipment of the Covid-19 vaccine was received according to schedule, it added.
SDMC said for the second shipment in the first phase of the immunisation programme, a total of 31,590 doses were received for the administration of the first dose of the vaccination.
The first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in Kuching on Feb 24. Phase one of the exercise will run until the end of this month and involves 97,161 frontline workers.
Meanwhile, the SDCM reported that there were still people being compounded for not complying with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The police have issued 21 compounds comprising12 in Miri, five in Padawan, two in Sibu and one each in Kuching and Bau, the committee stated.
