KUCHING: A total of 117 persons received state awards and medals from Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in an investiture ceremony held at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here today.
Leading the group of recipients were Ngab Dollah Salam, Jetli Jelian, Jimmy Ngindang Bau and Lau Kiing Sieng who were conferred the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) respectively during the recent official birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri.
Five others received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) award, 19 the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) while there were 21 recipients of the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) award.
The ceremony also saw 19 persons receiving the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) award and 29 others received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) award.
Twenty civil servants received the excellent civil service award – Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT).
Also present at the investiture ceremony was Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib and state dignitaries.
Taib pins the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) award on Ngab Dollah Salam. 
Taib pins the Kenyalang Star Officer (P.B.K) award on Monaliza Zaidel. 
Taib pins the BAKTI Service Medal (P.P.B) award on Hamdan Ismail.
