KABONG: A fisherman, Sedek Sujang, 60, had the shock in his life, after discovering that a crocodile was entangled in his fishing net yesterday.
Sedek said he had set the net along Sungai Baloh near Kampung Perpat here on Tuesday and was hoping to catch Terusan fish.
He said while retrieving the heavy net, he was surprised to see a crocodile trapped in the net instead of Terusan fish.
“Upon seeing the crocodile, I felt like wanting to jump off the boat, but because it is my net, I had to take the reptile back to the riverbank.
“I contacted my friends to help me remove the lifeless crocodile from the net. We later released the carcass into the river,” he said.
Sedek added that the crocodile weighed about 100kg.
