TATAU: Twelve frontliners received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines at a vaccination programme organised by Bintulu Division Health Office and Tatau District Health Clinic last Wednesday (March 31).
Seven of them are Health Ministry (MoH)’s staff while five others are from Tatau District Office.
One of the recipients, Bunya Kana, 61, said there was no negative effects after receiving the jabs, except for the fact that he had to wait for half an hour in prior.
“I hope the community out there including senior citizens would put their confidence in the government’s efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
“I have high cholestrol and allergic towards medicine but upon receiving the vaccine, there was no side effects at all. Therefore, the people should not worry. Just bring along your medical card when receiving the vaccine,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tatau District Office personnel, Priscilla Bintang, 27, hopes that her friends would follow suit in receiving the vaccine.
“This vaccination symbolises our support towards the government in efforts to curb Covid-19 pandemic. Taking the vaccine is also a way for us to protect ourselves, family members and the surrounding community,” she said.
The second dose of Covid-19 vaccines for the recipients is scheduled to be on April 10.
