SIBU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud today (Nov 3) conferred various state awards and medals upon 126 recipients at an investiture ceremony at a hotel here.
Leading the list of recipients for Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak which carried the title ‘Datu’ was the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Research permanent secretary Datuk Kameri Affandi while Nicholas Sia Yit Shing and Hang Tuah Merawin received the Johan Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (JPC).
During the event, Taib, for the first time, also awarded Pingat Perwira Negeri (PPN) (Gangsa) to 12 securityveterans, led by Engkang Sigaw.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was awarded to Ling Bee Lang @ Choo Bee Lang.
Besides that, seven recipients received Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (Silver). Meanwhile, 12 recipients received Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak; 13 received Pingat Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang; 19 were given Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (Bronze) and 59 were awarded Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Bentara Bintang Sarawak.
Also present at the ceremony were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Urban Development and Resources Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee as well as State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
