KUCHING: A total of 1,283 applicants have successfully applied for Sarawak Rental Assistance Scheme (SRAS), said Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said under the scheme, a total of RM163,000 has been paid to the landlord.
“This is Sarawak government programme since last year in which we want to help those with monthly household income less than RM2,131.
“Under this scheme, a total of RM48 million has been allocated to estimated 20,000 eligible Sarawakians,” he said in his video message on his Facebook yesterday.
He added under SRAS, each successful applicant will be paid RM200 each month for their rental for up to 36 months directly to their landlord.
