Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei said the figure was only for the first phase of its mobile service’s assistance which will halt temporarily to give way for the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.

“We are now compiling all the forms before submitting them to the Social Welfare Department (JKM),” he said in a press conference at his office here, yesterday.

Wong said the second phase of the party’s mobile service will continue after the CNY celebration.

He welcomed similar actions by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and commended Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng who visited the KMC Flats in Padungan recently for the same purpose.

“I do not mind if they copy our ideas to establish mobile service around Kuching or across Sarawak because this is good and we can work together for the benefit of the people,” he said.
