KUCHING: A total of 14 people from various agencies including non-governmental agencies (NGOs), and political parties of various professions have been appointed as members of the Sarawak General Hospital Visitor Board by the Health Ministry.
Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has been appointed as the president effective this year until end of the month next year.
Among the appointed members are Hiu Kuan Fah, Satria Arjuna Julaihi, George Tan Yuon, Wong Ha Yung, Ahmad Malie, Boniface Willy Son Tumek, Voon Shiak Ni, Desmond Kho, Fathurrahman Othman, Andri Zulkarnaen Hamden, Ting Kee Kai, Sia Ai Kiew, Choo Chiew Jun and Lee Khee Chuan.
The Sarawak General Hospital Visitor Board recently held its first meeting and the committee members were selected then.
George Tang is the board’s chairman followed by secretary Desmond Kho and treasurer, Hiu Kuan Fah.
The roles of the Board of Visitors are interlinked with Hospitals and Communities, which liaise and strengthen the relation between hospital and community.
