NCR LAND DOCUMENTATION
KUCHING: Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) has successfully done the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land documentation in 144 Bidayuh villages out of about 340 kampungs.
Its chief advisor Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong said the Bidayuh NCR land documentation started since 2007 following approval given by then Chief Minister Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud (now the Governor of Sarawak).
“In November last year, we (DBNA) have met the current Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to discuss on the matter and Abang Johari has given a directive to the director of Land and Survey Department (LSD) to follow up on the documentation conducted by DBNA.
“Hopefully by June this year, we will see some of the NCR land titles issued out,” he told reporters after the New Year Gathering 2020 and DBNA 65th anniversary celebration at DBNA headquarters here on Friday night.
He mentioned that he and the other Bidayuh leaders were extremely grateful to Abang Johari for realising one of the core thrusts in their Strategic Plan 2020-2030 which is ‘NCR land documentation and NCR land development’.
