KUCHING: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) yesterday reported another 15 new Covid-19 positive cases, bringing the total to 363.
SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said all 15 individuals are receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) here.
“A total of 119 new person under investigation (PUI) cases were also recorded, bringing the total to 2,799. From this, 2,284 PUIs were tested negative while 152 are still awaiting test results,” he said when delivering the committee’s Covid-19 daily update yesterday.
Of all the newly recorded PUI cases, 79 are from Kuching, Serian (15), Samarahan (eight), Miri (five), Bintulu (four), three each in Bau and Sri Aman, and one each in Lundu and Tatau.
The state also recorded a compliance rate of 97 percent of the movement control order (MCO).
“The police also made 21 arrests and issued 137 compounds to individuals found flouting the MCO.
“This brings the total number of compounds given to 511 with 607 arrests,” he said.
The state also recorded an additional 26 person under surveillance (PUS), totalling 1,078, placed in quarantine centres throughout Kuching, Miri, Limbang and Bintulu.
