KUCHING: Sarawak registered 151 new Covid-19 cases today, an increase of 12 cases from the previous day’s 139.
This takes the total number of cases to 304,432.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 148 cases were in categories 1 and 2 while three were in categories 3, 4 and 5.
“Kuching registered the most cases with 47, followed by Miri with 23, Bintulu with 18 and Sibu with 17.
“Five cases were reported in Bau, four cases in Matu, and three each in Serian, Sarikei, Sri Aman, Simunjan, Pusa and Samarahan.
“Two cases were reported in Lubok Antu, Limbang, Tatau, Lundu, Kapit, while each in Asajaya, Mukah, Betong, Telang Usan, Dalat, Kabong, Tebedu, Kanowit and Selangau.”
SDMC disclosed that one death was reported at Sarawak General Hospital.
“The victim was an 82-year-old woman, who had diabetes and hypertension.”
There were no new clusters reported today.
In connection with the standard operating procedure non-compliance, Kuching police issued compound notices to three individuals for failing to register with the MySejahtera app before entering a public building.
This takes the total number of compounds issued to 13,881 thus far.
