155 organisations receive RM2.6 mln in gov’t grants

KAPIT: A total of 155 organisations have received RM2,610,700 in government grants from Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing.

He allocated the grants to 125 village security development and development committee (JKKKs) in Baleh and 30 non-governmental organisations (NGOs), local clubs and associations in Kapit and Kuching.

Speaking after officiating at the ‘ngiling bidai’ ceremony and commissioning of the water tank storage system of Rumah Gendang at Sungai Puro, Gaat in Baleh recently, he said phase II and III of the grant presentation ceremony would be held later this year to ensure that no JKKKs in his constituency were left out.

Also present at the function were Member of Parliament for Hulu Rajang, Datuk Wilson Ugak Kumbong, Pelagus state assemblyman, Wilson Nyabong Ijang and Kapit Resident, Joseph Belayong Punan.
