BINTULU: Sixteen-year-old Muay Thai fighter Texas Jeremy Lo is approaching the Malaysia Games (Sukma) with calmness and confidence.
“It’s exciting, I feel great honestly, training has been great and even the food has been really good,” he said.
Texas was speaking to New Sarawak Tribune at the Paragon Street Mall today (Aug 15) and said that he feels excited about his fight and looks forward to it.
“I am approaching this as cool and easy, I shouldn’t be too stressed (about the fight) right,” he said.
Texas shared that his international experience would add incredible boost to his upcoming fight, however, reiterated that he has not fought in amateur fights in close to a year.
“Pro fights, we fight without armour, so no shin pads, but this one, there is armour and shin pad,” said Texas who normally fights professional fights in Thailand.
Texas in his first Sukma also expressed excitement about the impressive and incredible Muay Thai venue.
“The venue is really nice and the ring is built in very nice. I am just feeling really excited,” he added.
The Kuching lad has made it to the quarter-finals and will fight on Saturday (Aug 17) in the 54 to 57kg category.
