KUCHING: A total of 161 auxiliary police personnel graduated from the Kuching Police Training Centre yesterday.
The newly-commissioned personnel received their certificates after completing a two-month course.
Their passing out parade was attended by Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department deputy director Datuk Sun Teoh Tia.
In his speech, Sun said the two-month course had exposed the trainees to various aspects of training including legal and physical, kawad (marching drill), martial arts and firearms.
“All the trainees have undergone physical and mental transformations to carry out their duties and responsibilities as auxiliary police officers,” he added,
Sun advised the newly-commissioned auxillary police personnel to behave well and abide by the rules and refrain from engaging in unlawful acts such as abuse of power and drugs and corruption.
He said the presence of the auxiliary police would assist the Royal Malaysia Police to maintain peace and security in the country.
Meanwhile, the Best Overall Training award for the auxiliary police basic course 1/2019 series was awarded to Constable Nazarulazwan Abdullah, 28.
The Best Academic Award recipients were Benedick Constable Darvin Donald, 31, and Constable Siti Khadijah Kefili, 23.
Also present at the passing out parade were Pulapol Kuching commanding officer SAC Abdul Latiff bin Yunus and state Community Crime Prevention and Safety Section chief Supt Ang Seow Aun.
