KUCHING: Some 162 people were conferred with state awards by Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Haji Taib Mahmud during an investiture ceremony held at Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri Sarawak here, yesterday.
Leading the list of 13 recipients of Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) was Director of State Unity Department, Diwarna Azool who joined the state civil service in 1993. He had served in various capacities in other states under the same department.
There were 29 recipients of the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) and 15 recipients of the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS). Meanwhile, there were 37 Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K) recipients and 28 Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) recipients.
There were 40 recipients of the Pingat Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) making a total of 162 recipients. Also present at the investiture ceremony were Deputy State Secretary Datu Jaul Samion and Action State Police Commissioner, Dato’ Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim.
