165 federal officers pay courtesy visit to TYT

KUCHING: A group of 165 officers from 67 federal departments and agencies in the education and social sectors paid a courtesy visit to the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, during a special ceremony held at the Grand Hall of the Astana Negeri Sarawak today (Oct 17).

Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan said that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the relationship between the federal government and the Sarawak government under the leadership of the Sarawak Governor.

“Our officers are excited and honoured to receive advice and insights from Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi, who has extensive experience in various fields.

“His guidance will be invaluable in helping us provide the best service to the people, the state, and the country,” he said during the ceremony.

Also present at the event was Wan Junaidi’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Other notable attendees included Sarawak Education Department director Datuk Dr Azhar Ahmad, National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) CEO, Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) assistant vice-chancellor for leadership and development, Professor Datuk Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman.

Ahmad Nadzri also congratulated Wan Junaidi on his appointment as the 4th Chancellor of UNIMAS and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah on receiving the Datuk Patinggi Bintang Kenyalang (DP) award.

Meanwhile, according to Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, Senior Private Secretary to the Head of State, the ceremony was part of a series of sessions allowing federal agencies to meet with Wan Junaidi.

This event marked the third session, following a meeting with 196 federal officers from 25 security sector agencies on Sept 11 while the second session held on Oct 2, attended by 191 officers from 51 departments and agencies in the development and economic sectors.
