SIBU: A total of 170 policemen will receive their second dose of the vaccine here at Lanang Health Clinic until next Monday in stages.

Sibu District Police ACP Standley Jonathan Ringgit stated that 75 policemen had received their second dosage today.

“Tomorrow (Sunday), a total of 56 policemen will be given the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine followed by 39 policemen on Monday, making it a total of 170 policemen altogether,” he said during his second dosage here at Lanang Health Clinic.

Meanwhile, Majlis Daerah Luar Bandar Sibu (MDLBS) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai when met urged the public, especially in rural areas to register for the vaccine.

“Whether through the online application of MySejahtera or manually by filling in the form, all citizens are advised to take this vaccine to curb the transmission of Covid-19.

“For now, apart from adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), vaccination is the only way to stop the chain of the infections by building the antibody’s immunity.

“We need to reach at least 75 percent or more to build these antibodies that are capable of fighting the Covid-19 virus in our body,” he stressed.

He said he had taken the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine without any problems at 9.35 this morning.

“This time, it’s still the same as the first dose, there are no side effects, just a little bit of pain in my arm,” said Sempurai.
