BINTULU: A total of 174 six-year-old children from 16 Tabika Perpaduan Bintulu Division who had completed their studies yesterday attended a graduation ceremony here.

Special Officer to the Bintulu MP, Steven Kong officiated at the graduation ceremony held at the Bintulu Development Board’s (BDA) Auditorium. Kong represented Bintulu MP cum the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

Later, in his speech, Kong said that teachers and parents played an important role in the development of children’s personalities and potentials.

“This is about producing quality human capital from the beginning,” he said.

Kong added the support of parents in addition to teachers who provided guidance at the nursery level should be continuous.
They should always be sensitive to the development of children not only in terms of intellectual mastery but also from social, emotional and spiritual aspects.

“Graduation ceremonies such as this indirectly inspire the children to continue learning to a higher level,” he said.

Kong added that early childhood education was important in ensuring the holistic development of students including physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual aspects in a conducive and interactive learning environment.

“I believe that solid support and continuous cooperation from us will be able to further improve the good relationships between the kindergarten management and parents,” he said.

Kong also hoped that Tabika Perpaduan would be able to produce patriotic young generations who practised good values in their daily lives.
