KUCHING: A total of 18 youngsters took part in the finale of the Malaysia Kids Ambassadors competition here Monday night.
The event was held to promote the cultural diversity of Sarawak and other states of Malaysia through the participation of young talents from different states.
It was also to showcase the talents and potential of youngsters in the field of arts, culture, music, crafts, tourism and also to provide a platform for children to develop their confidence, public speaking skills and stage presence.
The three-day competition on their creativity, talent, intelligence and beauty began on Dec 16-17 at the Royal Cruise and Borneo Cultural Museum, with the grand final held at Pullman Kuching on Dec 18.
SUPP Women’s chief Kho Teck Wan represented Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Sim Kui Hian at the event.
The competition featured three categories of finalists, namely, Category A which involved seven participants aged five to eight; six in Category B for those aged nine to 12 and Category C which involved five participants aged 13 to 16.
The winners will be competing for the Asean Ambassador title in 2024 with youngsters from all Asean countries.
Also present were Anedia Kahar from Business Events, Dato Nancy Yeoh, Francesca Ang and Lim Mei Yek.
