KUCHING: 18 contestants will compete for the coveted crown of the Miss 1Borneo Beautiful 2018 this coming Saturday here at Riverside Majestic Hotel.
The contestants, nine each from Sabah and Sarawak, will be part of a beauty pageant that promises to be better and more sensational.
Its organiser, Alaric Soh, said that it would also be a designer fashion award show with the finalists as models. “For the fashion show, there will be 54 pieces comprising national costumes, resort wear and evening gowns.
“These garments will be showcased, paraded and judged on the same night as the finals,” he told a press conference here yesterday, adding that the winners would also be selected.
Meanwhile, the winner of the Miss 1Borneo Beautiful 2018 will go home with RM5,000 while the first runner-up will receive RM2,000 and second runner-up RM1,000. The third runner-up will receive RM800 while the fourth runner-up will go home with RM500.
Each of the top prize winners will also win a Professional Makeup Course at Image, Personality & Beauty Academy as well as a Cabin Crew Course at Cabin Crew Grooming Academy. There will also be subsidiary titles such as Miss Talent, Miss Friendship and Miss Photogenic with cash prizes up for grabs.
