KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 1,820 jobs were offered by 21 employers during the Kota Samarahan career carnival held at The Summer Shopping Mall yesterday.

About 498 of those vacancies were for degree holders and the other 1,322 were for non-degree holders.

Human Resources Deputy Minister Datuk Mahfuz Omar viewed the programme as an initiative by the Sarawak Labour Department (JTK) to reach out to applicants which they can interact directly thus filling the available job vacancies.

“Such programme can be used as a platform to match applicants and employers,” he said in his speech when officiating at the carnival yesterday.
