KUCHING: Police on Sunday issued 19 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the conditional movement control order (CMCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Lawas recorded the most compounds with six, followed by Bintulu (four), Kuching (two), Mukah (two), Kanowit (two), Miri (two), and Padawan (one).
“The violations included not wearing face masks (six); not having inter-zone travel permits (five); did not practise physical distancing (two); dining in eatery (two); failing to scan the MySejahtera app (two); leaving an enhanced MCO area without permission (one); and failing to update the customer logbook (one).
“This brings the total amount of compounds issued since Mar 18 last year to 6,781,” the committee said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Local Government and Housing issued 15 compounds to business operators of premises under the supervision of various local councils.
Dalat and Mukah District Council recorded the highest compounds with four; followed by three under Limbang District Council; two each under Bintulu Development Authority and Sarikei District Council; and one each under Matu and Daro District Council, Miri City Council, Serian District Council and Marudi District Council.
SDMC added that the businesses were violating SOPs such as failing to update the customer logbooks (11); failing to enforce wearing of face of masks (two); operating past the allowed time (one); and allowing customers to dine in (one).
This brings the total amount of compounds issued by local authorities since Feb 1 this year to 719.
