KUCHING: The crocodile culling and removal programme of Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) continues with the removal of a 2.5-metre-long male crocodile from Sungai Sarawak yesterday.

“The current programme of our Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) had commenced on 13 July and ends today. The crocodile that was snared at the Sungai Sarawak Barrage at 6.00am is estimated to weigh 70kg. It was hauled ashore at 11.00am.

“Sungai Sarawak is listed as a major Crocodile Removal Zone (CRZ). The current operation covers a stretch of 3 kilometres of waters with seven separate sets of ‘hook-and-line’ were set along the river,” said a statement by SFC.
