BINTULU: It was a lucky day for fishing enthusiast Azmi Mahli when he caught a 2.8-kg ikan pari (stingray) which won him RM10,000 in the Joran Merdeka 2017-Menyilem Latik fishing competition held at Bintulu Promenade Waterfront here last weekend.
Azmi’s colleague, Awang Drahman who caught a 570-gm ikan kerapu (grouper) was among the 6th to 10th placing winners.
The event was organised by Persatuan Anaq Vaie Bintulu (PAVB) in conjunction with this year’s state-level Merdeka Day celebration which is centred here.
PAVB president Pandi Suhaili gave away prizes to the winners.
