SRI AMAN: Twenty residents of Rumah Siti, Kampung Paku Ulu, celebrated a momentous occasion recently after graduating from a three-month Literacy for Adults Skills (LEADS) programme.
The programme, organised by the Sri Aman District Community Development Department (KEMAS) Office, aimed to equip illiterate adults with basic literacy skills.
Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Francis Harden Hollis graced the graduation ceremony and expressed his strong support for the programme.
“I firmly believe that this programme is crucial in eradicating illiteracy, particularly among residents in rural areas.
“We must continue these efforts to ensure a significant reduction in illiteracy rates,” he said during the graduation and certificate presentation ceremony.
The ceremony also saw Collin Mundau being recognised for his outstanding achievement as the programme’s best participant.
