KUCHING: The Welfare Economic Club (CREW) of the Welfare Department staged an expedition to the top of Mount Santubong, recently.

The expedition comprising 20 staff members of the department were led by Saifullah Haji Ali and CREW chairman, Abdul Rahim Majid.

Saifullah said that the main purpose of the expedition was to raise awareness on leading a healthier lifestyle amongst the department’s staffers.

“As we made our way to the top, we cleared the path, especially at checkpoints of trash thrown by irresponsibly visitors,” he said.

The group started climbing at 7.30am and made their way back to the foot of the mountain at 4.30pm.
