BINTULU: Twenty individuals were hauled up for alleged drug abuse during a raid on a hotel here on Tuesday (Sept 15).
Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said that a raid was conducted around 11pm.
The suspects included four local women.
“Upon inspection, a 31-year-old male suspect was found with seven small plastic packets filled with crystals suspected to be syabu weighing 6.34 grammes. Another six male suspects were also found with syabu,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 16).
Following urine tests, 19 were found positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
