KUCHING: A total of 20 recipients, consisting of the low-income group (B40) in the Pantai Damai constituency received food basket donations in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri presented the food basket to seven recipients who attended the handover ceremony at the Chapel Mother of Christ Church here today.
The programme is an annual activity organised by the Santubong Parliamentary Service Centre in collaboration with the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN) to alleviate the financial burden of the residents.
Nancy pledged the commitment to continuously assist those in need, including providing food basket donations at various locations under the Santubong Parliamentary constituency.
Earlier, she also participated in a similar programme to donate food baskets to 89 residents in the Tanjong Datu constituency.
Following this, she will attend a similar programme in Kampung Muara Tebas under the Demak Laut constituency to distribute food baskets to 20 recipients.
Also present was the chief executive officer of YKN Nordina Haron.
