KOTA SAMARAHAN: 202 staff of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) staff yesterday received excellent awards during the university’s Excellent Awards Ceremony (MAGU) held at Tunku Abdul Rahman Hall (Detar) Putra, Unimas here yesterday.
The awards were divided into seven categories including academic, management, sports and innovation.
Also presented were two Webometrics awards, two MAGU special awards for the Project Category, 13 special awards for groups, committees and contingents and appreciation awards to 22 Unimas retirees.
The presentation ceremony was graced by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Tan Sri Noorul Ainur Mohd. Nur and Vice-Chancellor of Unimas, Prof Dato’ Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.
Kadim, in his speech, pointed out that in its 25 years of existence, Unimas had scored many achievements in various fields.
He congratulated all the recipients for their excellent performance and hoped they would become role models for the others.
